The hunt in short
What Is Monster Hunter Outlanders?
Monster Hunter Outlanders is an open world hunting action RPG for Android, developed by TiMi Studio Group, officially licensed by Capcom and published worldwide by Level Infinite. It takes the series formula of tracking, fighting and carving huge monsters and rebuilds it for mobile in a seamless open world: the island of Aesoland.
Aesoland is changing. Radiantite crystals have spread across the island, and their energy is transforming the local wildlife into Radiant Species, monsters with new power and new behaviour. At the centre of the disturbance sits the Elder Dragon Ruger Aidal, and your job, alone or with other hunters, is to explore the island, take on its quests and face what the crystals have woken up.
There is no auto-combat here. Every hunt is manual: you read the monster, pick your moment, use the terrain and earn the kill with your own hands. The game is free to play with in-app purchases, and this page is its download home, with the verified game file, an honest review and guides written from real hunts on real phones.
New to the series? Nothing before Aesoland needs catching up on. Outlanders is a standalone adventure built mobile first, and the beginner guide in our guides section walks your first hunts step by step.

What's New in the Launch Build
Monster Hunter Outlanders arrives as a complete hunting game, not a skeleton. The full island, its story campaign, its hunting systems and its social play are all here from the start, and the content below is what our reviewer found in the build this page serves.
A Full Open World
Aesoland ships whole: one seamless island of hunting grounds to explore, with monsters roaming their own habitats and quests that send you across the entire map.
Radiant Species
The crystal changed monsters headline the launch roster. Radiant Species take known hunts and twist them with new power, new patterns and better rewards.
Ruger Aidal
The Elder Dragon Ruger Aidal stands at the heart of the story, the disturbance every hunter on Aesoland is working toward.
Guilds and Building
Guild play, crafting and building systems are in from day one, so hunting parties can prepare, build and progress together between quests.
Everything on this page describes the launch build exactly as tested. When new content lands, we install the new file, hunt it on our test phones and refresh this review to match.

Why Hunters Download It
Players land on this page for two reasons: the game itself, and a file they can trust. The game side needs little selling, because a full open world Monster Hunter built for phones, with manual combat and real co-op, is what mobile hunters have asked for since the series went portable. The file side is where this site earns its keep.
- A real hunt on mobile: manual combat, big monsters and no auto-combat doing the work for you.
- One verified file: the game package here is checked for package identity and exact size before the download button goes up.
- Nothing bundled in: the file is the game and its assets, with no extra installers or add ons riding along.
- Guides from the same bench: install help, weapon advice and fixes written from the exact build on this page.
If a hunt goes wrong, it should be because the monster was faster, not because the download was wrong. That is the standard the Monster Hunter Outlanders download on this page is built to.
Inside the game
Main Features
Every feature below is in the launch build and was checked in our own hunts on Aesoland.
Open-World Aesoland
One seamless island to explore, with building and traversal systems that open new routes and monsters that live in their own habitats, not in menu lists.
Radiant Species
Radiantite crystals have changed Aesoland monsters into Radiant Species: familiar hunts with new power, new patterns and richer rewards for hunters who learn them.
8 Weapon Types
Great Sword to Heavy Bowgun, eight distinct weapon types, each with its own combos, timing and role in a hunting party.
13 Adventurers
Thirteen playable Adventurers to take into the field, so you can match the hunter to the hunt and swap styles between quests.
Buddies at Your Side
Palico, Rutaco and Trillan join your hunts as Buddies and help in the field, so even solo hunts never feel lonely.
4-Player Co-op
Team up with up to three other hunters online and take down the biggest monsters on the island together.
Guilds and Building
Join a guild, craft and build with your party, and use the building systems to prepare properly before a hard hunt.
Two Control Schemes
Two control schemes let you pick the layout that fits your hands, whether you are a series veteran or a first time mobile hunter.

Weapons and Playstyles
Your weapon is your playstyle in this series, and Monster Hunter Outlanders carries eight types at launch. Every one of them can finish every hunt; what changes is how the fight feels and what your party needs from you.
| Weapon | Playstyle |
|---|---|
| Great Sword | Slow, heavy charged slashes that reward patience and punish every opening a monster leaves. |
| Long Sword | Fast, flowing combos for hunters who like constant motion and quick counters. |
| Dual Blades | The quickest hits in the game, all at close range and relentless once you commit. |
| Hammer | Blunt power that staggers monsters, breaks parts and creates openings for the whole party. |
| Lance | A solid shield and precise thrusts: the safest front line a co-op party can stand behind. |
| Charge Blade | Sword and shield play that charges up into a heavy axe form for burst damage. |
| Heavy Bowgun | Heavy ranged firepower for hunters who would rather fight at distance and control the field. |
| Bow | Mobile ranged play with charged shots and fast repositioning between volleys. |
Our advice for new hunters: spend your first hunts rotating. Two or three quests with each type costs nothing, and the weapon that clicks is the one you will master fastest. The weapons guide in our guides section goes deeper on each type.

Safety and Verification
We verify this file like every file on this site: the package identity, com.tencent.mhadv, and the file size are checked against the genuine TiMi Studio Group build, the requested permissions are audited, and the game is installed and played on our test phones before the download button goes up. The build here is exactly the build this review describes.
One thing worth understanding is the format. The download is an XAPK, a container that holds the app together with its OBB game assets in one package, which is how a game of this size ships outside an app store. That makes your installer choice part of the safety picture: use an installer you trust, and compare the downloaded size with the details table on this page before you install.
If a copy of this game from anywhere asks for permissions a hunting game has no need for, or arrives at a very different size, leave it alone. The genuine package is the one described on this page.
On your phone in minutes
How to Download and Install
Installing an XAPK takes one extra step compared with a plain APK, because an installer app has to unpack the parts. Follow these steps in order and the whole job takes a few minutes.
- Check your storage: the XAPK is about 448 MB and the installed game needs room beyond that for its data, so keep at least 2 GB genuinely free before you start.
- Download the XAPK: use the download button on this site and let the whole file land, on Wi-Fi where you can. A partial file will not install.
- Get an XAPK installer: install a trusted XAPK installer or split APK installer app first, since Android cannot open this package format on its own.
- Open the file in the installer: select the downloaded XAPK and let the installer show you its parts, the base app plus the OBB assets the game needs.
- Allow the install: when Android asks, allow installs from the installer app, then tap Install and let it work.
- Wait for every part: do not close the installer mid job. The asset data is large, and the game will not start without it.
- Launch and hunt: open the game, let the first launch finish its setup, pick your control scheme and take your first quest on Aesoland.
If an install fails, it is nearly always storage, a short download or a missing permission: compare your file with the size in the details table, free real room, allow the install and try again.
Staying current
How to Update
Updating Monster Hunter Outlanders keeps your hunts, guild features and co-op play working with everyone else, and the method protects your progress. Download the current XAPK file from this page and install it over your existing copy with the same installer app, never uninstalling first, and your game data carries across.
After an update, give the game one normal session before judging it: first launches rebuild caches and are never the representative ones. Then check the guild and co-op screens, because that is where useful changes like to appear, and confirm your buddies and Adventurers are exactly where you left them.
Will it run?
Device Compatibility
The game asks for Android 9.0 and up and a 64-bit device, a bar most phones from the last several years clear comfortably. The checks that actually decide your install are these:
- Android 9.0 or newer, which covers the great majority of phones still in daily use.
- A 64-bit processor: this build is arm64-v8a only, and older 32-bit phones cannot install it.
- Free storage for the ~448 MB XAPK plus the installed game data on top of it.
- A steady connection for the first launch, downloads inside the game and online co-op hunts.
On our test phones the game installs and plays across the range, from current mid range handsets down to older budget hardware running Android 12. If your phone clears the four checks above, Monster Hunter Outlanders will install and run.
File and requirements
Technical Details
The download is a single XAPK package: the base app and its OBB asset files travel together, which is why one installer step is needed and why the file is the size it is. The facts below are taken from the verified package itself.
| Package Name | com.tencent.mhadv |
|---|---|
| Minimum Android | 9.0 (SDK 28) |
| Architecture | arm64-v8a |
| File Format | XAPK |
| OBB Assets | Included in the XAPK package |
| Developer | TiMi Studio Group |
| Publisher | Level Infinite |
Because the assets ride inside the package, there is nothing else to fetch after the install beyond the game's own first launch setup and any content it streams for online play.
The honest take
Why It Is Worth Playing
Most mobile action RPGs soften the hunt: auto-combat, tiny arenas, monsters that wait politely to be tapped. Monster Hunter Outlanders does the opposite. It trusts you with a real open world, real weapon depth and monsters that punish greedy play, and it is a better game for every one of those choices.
The structure respects your time either way you play. Solo hunters get buddies, a full story campaign and an island that rewards wandering. Social hunters get guilds, building and four player co-op against the monsters that genuinely need a party. Few free to play launches arrive with both halves this complete.
Our verdict after the bench and the field: if you have ever wanted the full hunting loop in your pocket, tracking, preparing, fighting and carving, this is the launch to download.
Good and bad
Pros and Cons
Pros
- A true open world hunting game built for mobile, not a cut down port
- Manual combat with no auto-combat: your skill decides hunts
- 8 weapon types and 13 Adventurers give real variety
- Solo play with buddies, plus guilds and 4 player co-op
- Free to play with a full story campaign on Aesoland
Cons
- A large download at about 448 MB, before install data
- The XAPK format needs an installer app, one extra step
- Needs Android 9.0 and a 64-bit phone, so old devices miss out
- In-app purchases are present, as with most free to play games
When a hunt stalls
Troubleshooting
The XAPK will not install. Confirm your installer app reads XAPK files, check the download is the full ~448 MB, and make sure installs from that app are allowed in your Android settings.
The game closes on launch. Restart the phone, confirm the OBB assets installed alongside the app, and free storage: a nearly full phone is the most common cause we see.
Hunts lag or the phone gets hot. Close background apps, lower the graphics setting if your phone struggles, and play the biggest co-op hunts on a strong, stable connection.
Co-op will not connect. Check you are signed in, switch to stable Wi-Fi and retry the quest: a hunting party depends on every member's connection, not just yours.
Our fix guides in the guides section keep the longer list, in the order we work through it on the bench.
